What Farid never wanted

Farid wanted to distance himself from anything that would cause the slightest bit of hindrance to whatever he wanted to achieve in his life. Business was his life. Business, he thought, was something he was good at; something in his blood.
He never wanted to come back to FAST. And to spare some time for his alma mater, was something out of question. There was a feeling deep within him, of which he never spoke of; a feeling of intense dislike. All I could extrapolate was that it was something he was denied of.
Till March 2004, I only knew him as a helpful and a kind-hearted senior who was at good terms with Umair Moheet, my buddy. As far as I can recall, it was during the post SOFTEC 2004 events (during which I developed some serious personality and ego issues with one of my friends, Nauman Saeed) that Farid and I came close to each other.
Cutting the long story short; by the end of October the same year Farid and I had started going out for Lunches and Dinners together in order to discuss out plans and future strategies related to doing something great, something wonderful for FAST.
Together we organized 3 Alumni homecoming events (First on March 26, 2005; second on December 24, 2005; third on October 28, 2006). But a few weeks after organizing the last event, we both decided not to go with our plans any further.
